How our guides are made
Facebook moves its menus around constantly. So before a guide is published or updated, every step is walked through on the Facebook app and on facebook.com — phone and desktop — and the guide tells you when the two differ. You’ll see a dated “tested” note on our guides so you know how current the steps are.
We keep instructions plain. Short steps, the exact button labels in bold, and a troubleshooting section for the cases where your screen doesn’t match. If a step can’t be verified against the live product, we say so instead of guessing. The full process is in our editorial policy.
